I Still Love H.E.R. is a booking/entertainment company created by LadyGemStar & KickAssAlyssia dedicated to the love of hip hop and its elements through the feminine experience. I Still Love H.E.R. hosts a monthly event in Chicago where the four elements are represented by featuring a variety of Chicago female DJs, MCs, Breakers and artists. We want to create a platform and raise awareness to the importance of the feminine contribution in the hip hop community in Chicago, as well as in its culture. Due to popular demand, I Still Love H.E.R. returns to every 4th Monday!!!! This month we have a guest from Detroit, MI, we welcome MIZ KORONA to I Still Love H.E.R. Also new music will be presented by JADE IVY! Our guest DJ this month is GEMINI JONES! And art by SHAN! MIZ KORONA If award-winning Detroit emcee Miz Korona had followed the rigid rules she’s been given since her childhood, she would have never opened up for hip-hop icons like Scarface and Run-DMC, or freestyled alongside Eminem and Xzibit in the blockbuster film 8 Mile. A cowardly music industry would prefer she either rap about sex or keep her lips sealed, but she spits blistering bars without compromise. “I have a no-holds-barred approach: ‘You’re going to respect me,’” Korona insists. “If you stand firm, you make people pay attention. She began to make her rounds at city hotspots like St. Andrews Hall and Detroit’s legendary Lush Lounge, where she would showcase her skills and network with the city’s movers and shakers. ”Her formidable delivery and sharp punchlines helped her establish a huge following. But most moviegoers remember her from her portrayal of “Vanessa” in 8 Mile, the blockbuster film starring hometown hero Eminem. In the scene, she freestyles alongside Em and multiplatinum-selling artist Xzibit, each of whom play plant workers on lunch break. ”In years since, she has won Detroit Music Awards (Best Hip-Hop Artist) and Detroit Hip-Hop Awards (Best Female Artist three years in a row), and appeared on albums by Detroit staples and artists around the world. But the industry sees Miz Korona staking her claim the way the real greats do: product. Her official debut: The Injection. shows versatility as well as cocky confidence “Do That For Me” and the pitfalls of inner-city living “The Real Nightmare” with equal candor. But The Injection’s shining moments appear on songs such as the single “Like A Zoo,” and “Playground” which pair pounding production with her equally formidable rhymes. JADE IVY Jade Ivy has graced the stage with I Still Love H.E.R. on several occasions, from our monthly event to our Hip Hop After Party that took place at Cole's bar at the Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival in 2012. Her music has been featured on both I Still Love H.E.R. volumes 1 & 2 and she has new material ready for the world to hear. Music will be provided by our guest DJ GEMINI JONES A true and blue Chicagoan Gemini Jones began her DJ journey in 2008 while attending The Illinois Center For Broadcasting. While enrolled, she applied and nailed an internship at award winning radio station 107.5 FM WGCI where she quickly grew interest in the art of DJing. Simply wanting to learn the craft and have some fun Gemini Jones set out to buy her first set of Technic 1200's'. With the help of a few Dj's she met at the station, she made connections, and learned the artistry instantaneous. Since then DJ Gemini Jones has been taking over the night life/concert scene opening for various popular artists like Waka Flocka Flame & Trinidad James. She is currently building a brand that will place her in the Hall Of Fame one day. Gemini Jones continues to construct her trademark by being apart of well respected Dj crews, headlining events, and being on radio. Being the best DJ in Chicago is cool but the rising star has dreams of being heard across the country and around the world. Gemini Jones has used her skills to tell everyone I'm not one of the best "female" DJs I'm one of the best DJs period. When asked whats her goal she stated "My main goal has always been to learn & master the art of Djing, I want to be considered as a turntablist not just a DJ, the popularity and everything is cool but the art is better.". and our resident DJ RHATED R (CHI) Rhated R tried rapping and after realizing there was a lot more to rapping than met the eye, she gave up all hope at becoming a rapper. She later co-hosted a college radio show for a short period of time. While attending college, Rhated R interned for several major record labels. She eventually landed at THE pioneering hip-hop label. At the time, the music industry wasn’t ready for the music download craze. Unfortunately, it cost a lot of people their jobs and Rhated R was a casualty to a series of layoffs. Still having feelings for her first love, she took a chance on love again and rekindled the love affair…this time from the DJ booth! Art showcased this month by SHAN.
