I Still Love H.E.R. is a booking/entertainment company created by LadyGemStar & KickAssAlyssia dedicated to the love of hip hop and its elements through the feminine experience. I Still Love H.E.R. hosts a monthly event in Chicago where the four elements are represented by featuring a variety of Chicago female DJs, MCs, Breakers and artists. We want to create a platform and raise awareness to the importance of the feminine contribution in the hip hop community in Chicago, as well as in its culture. Due to popular demand, I Still Love H.E.R. returns to every 4th Monday!!!! This month we have brought focus to the poetic and spoken word aspect of Hip Hop as we bring you performances by IMANI TRUTH & IDIOMATIC. Music this month will be provided by our guest DJ CACHET & our resident DJ RHATED R! We will feature art by NESCO (Vanessa Cole). IMANI TRUTH IMANI Truth is Chicago's Princess of Poetry with only two years of exposure she has become an international life artist and has released her first book, The Making of IMANI Truth: Diamond in the Rough; a relatable compilation of poetry exposing who she is in various categories pertaining to life choices. In addition to her book she has also released 2 albums (How I Feel and The IMANI Truth Experience-produced by Dj T-Rell). She is the ONLY poet that performs on the Chicago Hip Hop scene and has come out the dominate competitor in competitions against other Hip Hop/Rap artists. She has won in competitions against hip hop artists which has helped her to obtain The Chicago Hip Hop Hood Award for BEST NEW ARTIST, and to open for national artists such as Chicago’s own; Psycho Drama, Young Buck and more. IMANI Truth's involvement with charitable organizations and affiliations with an abundance of artists, Chicago and world renowned, has established her artistry and credibility as spoken words new princess and undeniably redefined the definition of an innovator who has selflessly poured herself into her craft and given back to her community. Just recently she has combined forces with Teri “Lyric” Green creating the first Spoken Hip Hop group called Lyrical Truth. IDIOMATIC Alia “Idiomatic” Jhane is a FeMcee from Hyde Park, Chicago. Idiomatic is a diverse sound focusing on the true element of “SoulFree”, which speaks about spirituality/her-story and beliefs/positivity for all/emotional feelings and relationships (human or animal)/ and everything else! Her inspiration come from Old School Hip-Hop her father introduced at a young age such as, Tupac Shakur, Common, Krs One, Queen Latifah, etc. She also has a unique selection of music like rock, punk, Japanese, third world, alternative, house, and more. She’s been making music since 2009 to find an easier way to express herself other than poetry and dropped two EP’s through soundcloud and bandcamp named “Dawn of an Idio” and “Idiomatic the Realness” in 2011. Idiomatic is currently performing at open mics and as a selected artist around Chicago, working on a new project, and is sharing the opportunity of Open Mic titled SoulFree for local artists/students in Hyde Park. Other than being a HipHop Artist, AliaJhane is a Multi-Media Artist/Art Educator/Experimental Film Creator/Poet and Creative Writer. Music will be provided by our guest DJ CACHET Music has become a lifestyle for this young producer out of Chicago. Cachet is growing at a noticeable rate, already nesting her niche in the music scene with a 'bass heavy' style. Though, it is nearly impossible to put a specific label on her music as a collective. Cachet is a scientist of sound, experimenting with different genres to create an overwhelming sensation of pleasure, slipping you into a daze every time. Her obsession with bass makes every inch of your organs quiver when the drops hit. Dabbling into the underground sounds and world music shows her indiscriminate style. Cachet is an impressionable personality and a necessity to the music world. “Music is another world to me. It’s about the goose bumps you feel when the sounds resonate in your eardrums and the lives you affect when they slip into an unavoidable trance with the bass acting as their bodies’ tour guides. Even when you can’t hear the music, you can feel the deep poetic flow to the very end. My existence is translated into every instrumental tool being used to project a complete synapse of musical pleasure. The title of a producer barely covers the abilities my mind can accomplish, but if that is what will keep minds at rest, I am a producer for the dancing bodies and I will not cease.” Cachet and our resident DJ RHATED R (CHI) Rhated R tried rapping and after realizing there was a lot more to rapping than met the eye, she gave up all hope at becoming a rapper. She later co-hosted a college radio show for a short period of time. While attending college, Rhated R interned for several major record labels. She eventually landed at THE pioneering hip-hop label. At the time, the music industry wasn’t ready for the music download craze. Unfortunately, it cost a lot of people their jobs and Rhated R was a casualty to a series of layoffs. Still having feelings for her first love, she took a chance on love again and rekindled the love affair…this time from the DJ booth!
