Millennium Park Announces 2014 Summer Film Series

Films to be presented on a state-of-the-art, 40-foot LED screen.

Millennium Park will once again present outdoor movies on its state-of-the-art, 40-foot LED screen as part of the Summer Film Series, Tuesdays, June 24–August 26 at 6:30pm. Chicagoans and visitors are invited to take a seat at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion or enjoy the show from the Great Lawn. This year’s lineup includes blockbusters, award-winning documentaries, family classics and more.

Ghostbusters • June 24 (PG, 105 mins) A special tribute to Chicago filmmaker Harold Ramis

Top Gun • July 1 (PG, 110 mins) With a special pre-screening program by the USO

20 Feet from Stardom • July 8 (PG-13, 91 mins) Winner of the 2014 Academy Award for Best

O Brother, Where Art Thou? • July 15 (PG-13, 106 mins) Documentary

Field of Dreams • July 22 (PG, 107 mins)

This is Spinal Tap • July 29 (R*, 82 mins) Presented with WBEZ’s Sound Opinions, and generous support from Music Box Theatre

The Birdcage • August 5 (R*, 117 mins)

American Graffiti • August 12 (PG, 110 mins) Academy Award Nominee for Best Picture and Best Director George Lucas

Dreamgirls • August 19 (PG-13, 130 mins) Featuring the Academy Award-winning performance by Chicago’s own Jennifer Hudson

The Wizard of Oz • August 26 (G-102 mins) Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of this family classic

All film are FREE and made possible by the Millennium Park Foundation. The Summer Film Series is co-curated with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE).

Additionally, Millennium Park will present other FREE films, simulcasts, videocasts and documentaries throughout the summer on the outdoor screen at Jay Pritzker Pavilion.
